The CDCF gives grants to charitable organizations for projects benefiting Cranbrook and the surrounding areas including Moyie, Jaffray, Bull River, Wardner, Elko, Grasmere, the Flathead reserve, St Mary's Reserve

To assist organizations in preparing their applications for the grants, CDCF has developed the Power Point presentation that you can access in the green box above.

To be eligible to receive grants, organizations must either be a registered charity, or partner with a registered charity for the project for which they are requesting grant money. If the organization (not holding charitable status) is partnering with a registered charity the Agency Agreement form must be filled out, signed by the authorized signers of both organizations and submitted with the grant application.

Organizations considering applying for grants ( especially if they have never applied before) are encouraged to send a letter of intent (not more than two pages) to CDCF outlining their project, and including the charity number of the organization to which the grant will be given. CDCF will inform the requesting organization as to how well the proposed project fits the funding guidelines, and, if appropriate, offer suggestions as to what should be included in the application. In place of a letter of intent, charities which have applied successfully before can forgo the letter of intent by calling and speaking with the executive director

In 2004, the first of CDCF’s grants were given to four projects: the new teen space at the Cranbrook Public Library, the community kitchen project of the Women’s Resource Centre Society, new equipment for Cranbrook’s community theatre, and to the Children’s Festival.
