What We Do

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens
can change the world; indeed it's the only thing that ever has."

Margaret Mead

Can You Imagine. . .

Imagine what Cranbrook and the surrounding district would be like

If children were healthier and better cared for. A grant from the Cranbrook & District Community Foundation (CDCF) has helped the Cranbrook Women's Resource Society with their community kitchen where young mothers can learn how to prepare healthy, nutritious and economical meals for their growing families. We have also been entrusted with the “Children First” endowment fund, from which an annual income will flow to benefit children in our community.

If we had better resources and programs for our seniors. The CDCF has begun this change for the better through a fund created in partnership with the Green Home Foundation. Their donation of $50,000 will be returning an annual income to be used for seniors' projects in the area.

If our literacy rate went up. A start is the development of “Teen Spaces” at the Cranbrook & District Public Library a project partially funded by a grant from CDCF.

If creativeness and culture know no bounds. A grant from CDCF to the Community Theatre to help purchase new equipment is a start in that direction.

Imagine what could be done if we were all to leave something behind that will improve our community FOREVER!

Imagine what dreams we could help to come true. The Cranbrook & District Community Foundation (CDCF) is one way to support our community's dreams through a permanent legacy.

The CDCF vision is of a safe, healthy, sustainable and vibrant community, and serves Cranbrook and the surrounding area including Yahk, Moyie, Jaffray, Wycliffe, Wasa, and anywhere in between.

A registered charitable foundation, the CDCF works with other charities in our area to further their goals. Grants from the CDCF can only be given to other registered charities. Other non-profit organizations wishing to benefit from CDCF programs are encouraged to partner with a local charity with compatible goals in order to qualify for grants.

Working with certified financial planners, lawyers, accountants and estate planners to help donors find the best way to meet their goal of supporting the community through a perpetual gift.

When we dream together there are no limitations on what we can accomplish. If the community has been good to you, think about giving something back in the form of a permanent, ongoing gift. Think about the legacy you can leave behind you may be surprised at what it can achieve and how many dreams can come true because of your permanent gift.
