Giving to the Foundation

"All you have shall some day be given;
Therefore give now, that the season of giving
may be yours and not your inheritors."

Kahlil Gibran

Why Give?

The foremost reason for giving to a community foundation is to provide an ongoing, permanent benefit to your community.

Donors may choose a favourite community organization to support, or stipulate the field of interest in which the allocations are to be made. For maximum long-term flexibility and benefit, the donor may leave the disbursement to the discretion of the Foundation's Board of Directors.

The Foundation will carefully screen all potential recipients and requires reporting on the use of any grants.

How to Give

Gifts may be given in many forms including:

  • Art
  • Cash
  • Stocks and Bonds
  • Gifts in Kind
  • Gifts in Memoriam
  • Life Insurance
  • Real estate
  • Transfer of existing endowments

To explore, in detail, the possibility of making a gift to your community through our Foundation, appropriate to your personal circumstances and charitable interests, please consult your professional advisor. Your accountant, lawyer, investment counsellor, life insurance agent, trust officer or financial planner will be pleased to discuss the options.
