  The Cranbrook and District Community Foundation announces 2 new partnership arrangements: 

Raising the Roof on Homelessness 

With our partner the Salvation Army, and guidance from a coalition of community adviors the Foundation is actively engaged in the efforts to build a 24/7 shelter for  homeless men, women and families from through out the East Kootenay. We have applied for and received pre development dollars and have begun the work necessary to get to the construction stage. The Foundation will issue tax deductible receipts for the building stage of the project and encourages in kind donation and sweat equity. Please contact us! 

 Building Healthy Futures Fund

 A partnership between the our Foundation and the Key City Gymnastics Club is the first of it's kind for the Foundation. The foundation cannot give directly to Sports Groups which are not charities but through a very specific legal arrangement with The National Sports Trust Fund and Sports BC the Foundation can issue tax deductible receipts on behalf of the project . Sports Groups interested in knowing how this arrangement works should contact the Foundation's executive Director. 

Our Foundation provides a permanent and structured means of keeping charitable donations within the community. It offers a long term source of funds because only the income from endowment funds is distributed. Through the Foundation, donors have a responsible framework for making the most of their charitable donations.

The purpose of the Foundation is to benefit the whole community. It is mandated to serve Cranbrook and areas B and C of the Regional  District including communities such as Fort Steele, Wardner, Jaffray, Moyie, Elko, Grasmere, St Mary's Reserve and the Flat Head Reserve.  The Foundation is incorporated as a non-profit society with charitable status, and is governed by a 15-member Board. It is a member of Community Foundations of Canada and has adopted their code of ethics to ensure transparent, open governance and professional management of funds.
